In April 2023, we made the leap — we left the UK and started a new life on the island of Zakynthos (Zante), Greece. That first summer was a whirlwind, and we shared an honest reflection in a previous video. This time, we’re going deeper.

After over a year of living here, we’ve begun to feel what it’s like to truly settle, to be welcomed into the local community, and to experience the realities of everyday life — the beautiful, the challenging, and the unexpected.

We’re not offering a guide or a tutorial. This is a personal look at the truths we’ve discovered since moving abroad — the kind of things that don’t make it into brochures or beach vlogs.

We’ll talk about:
– The shift from being newcomers to locals
– Cultural lessons and daily life in Zante
– The honest challenges of public services and bureaucracy
– What it’s really like to build a life in Greece as expats
– Why, despite everything, it still feels like home

A little about us We are Emma and Adam and are originally from Liverpool, UK. We have emigrated to Zakynthos, Greece where we are based full time with our 2 cats! We are in our late 30s and early 40s and come from an entertainment-based background. Years ago, we caught the travelling bug after working onboard cruise ships and travelling the world for our jobs. Although we are pretty well-travelled and accustomed to life abroad there are loads of places still on our bucket list and we plan to spend our 30’s and 40’s getting there! We run a media/content business providing Videography services for commercial and also weddings on the island of Zante.
