Описание к видео Adventureland - SAGA #1 (1983) Atari 8-bit - Complete!

Scott Adams Graphic Adventure #1 - (1983)
"Adventureland" - Atari 8-bit port
Adventure Intl. / Scott Adams
Emulator: Altirra 3.2

NOTE: The Japanese version walkthrough I've posted is pretty similar. You could reference it if you'd like to compare screenshots as well:

I really wanted to post this entire Atari 8-bit video to set the record straight. The screenshots and most versions I see of the on YouTube have absolutely atrocious colors. That's because the emulator default does not seem to match whatever color template Scott Adams must've been using back when they programmed this.

The secret is the first screen, where they list the five colors which your screen should at least somewhat try to recreate:
white / brown / orange / blue / green

The Altirra emulator I used has a lot of ability to manipulate the color map, and I think I found something that feels more pleasing to the eye, and certainly closer to whatever was originally intended. So see what you think of this video. I think you'll agree it's vastly superior to the screenshots found on MobyGames and elsewhere.

Finally... this is a great version of the game... where item graphics are drawn on the backgrounds to indicate what is in the room. So it' s more than just a static background - there is some interactivity. Typing "z" is what turns on/off the graphics mode entirely... so more moving quickly around, you can turn off graphics and play this as a straight text-adventure.

Hope you enjoy the graphics and the gameplay, though. "Adventureland" was a late 1978 pioneer of home computing games. Squishing a text-adventure into a micro with just 16k, it was one of the best games you could play on any home computer. It became one of the best-sellers in a fledgling industry, and helped Scott Adams launch Adventure International.
