Описание к видео Hundred Years' War: England vs. France

The Hundred Years' War, which is known to have lasted for 116 years precisely, is one of the most significant European medieval wars. This England vs. France conflict spanned more than a century of confrontation. It featured dozens of kings and princes who gained glory through famous — or infamous — military actions and personal decisions.

In this video we trace the full course of the war, from the crushing battles of Crécy and Poitiers for France, the signing of the Peace of Bretigny and the English capture of King John II the Good, the occupation of part of France and another defeat at Agincourt, to the revenge of Joan of Arc, also known as the Virgin of Orleans, and a French offensive that eventually ended the war when the British capitulated at Bordeaux. This war turned the medieval world upside down with its losses and successes, marking the decline of the age of chivalry.
