Tromsø to Svalbard - 5 1/2 days alone in the Arctic Ocean. Started beautifully, but halfway through I was faced with fog, squalls, steerage failure, and flooding. What a trip! Limped into Longyearbyen under hydrovane steering, and will be here making repairs that I will share with you next to show you just what went wrong. I'm proud of my accomplishment of making it all the way to 78° North, and I have learnt a lot about my own capability to face challenges and overcome them. Every passage makes me a better sailor, and makes Yeva and I more ready for next year's expedition.
