Edinburgh Trams tram fleet/rolling stock. Edinburgh Trams is a light rail metro rail network operated by Transport for Edinburgh in Great Britain serving the Edinburgh city centre, Newhaven and Edinburgh Park areas along with Edinburgh Airport.

This tram network consists of a single route from Newhaven to Edinburgh Airport with the Edinburgh Airport to St Andrew Square section opening in 2014 with the Newhaven extension opening in 2023, the stop at York Place was closed in 2022 and replaced with Picardy Place on the new extension. The service pattern consists of a single route operating the entire length of the ling operating a peak frequency of around every 7 minutes with services operating less frequently at certain times as low as every 15 minutes.

This video shows the current tram fleet/rolling stock (December 2025) along with the planned future rolling stock and past rolling stock for this tram/light rail network.

The current Edinburgh tram fleet has been in service for around 11 years since the network opened so is not likely to be replaced in the near future.

The current rolling stock consists of CAF Urbos 3 (Urbos 100) low floor trams which operate all regular transport service on this light rail network. These trams are low floor throughout and are made up of 7 articulated segments. The seating layout is in a mix of transverse and longitudinal with each tram featuring a fully accessible area along with standing areas for a total capacity of around 170 standing and 78 seated passengers. The Edinburgh Urbos 3 are the longest individual trams in service in Great Britain.

No new or additional rolling stock is currently planned for this tram network however, if any proposed network expansions take place additional new trams would be ordered.

No rolling stock has left this operator as the only rolling stock to be operated is the current Urbos 3 trams.

The train fleet information is correct as possible as of December 2025 and future train fleet dates are based for the planned introduction for passenger services. Past Train Fleet is based on when the current Edinburgh tram system has been in operation since 2014.
