In todays video we visit boulder harbor at lake mead. Boulder harbor is a popular boat launch ramp at lake mead. It's sad to see how low the lake has become. Right now the narrowest point in the harbor is about 2 1/2 ft. deep. The lake is currently sitting at 1,068.12 ft. above sea level. If the lake stays below 1,075 ft. we will enter phase 1 water restrictions starting 1 Jan 2022. While this wont impact us here in the Vegas valley much (we don't use the full amount of our current water allocation). This will have a dire impact on farmers in Arizona who rely on the Colorado river for irrigation. If the water drops below 1,050 ft. you will be able to see one of the intake tubes we use in the Vegas valley for drinking water. Las Vegas has three of these straws at varying depths. Did you know just about every drop of water that goes down the drain, or toilet in Las Vegas ends up back at lake mead?
