MASTERMODE DESCRIPTION:
A Mastermode is a type of nuzlocke where the player attempts to complete a game whilst doing challenges at random.
1. Player is only allowed to catch 1 pokemon per route.
2. If a pokemon faints it is considered dead, and must be put in a box.
3. Any static pokemon, (ex. Starters, gift pokemon) do not towards your first encounter in a new route.
4. If the player is given a challenge, they must complete that challenge to get a reward.
5. If the player doesn’t complete the challenge within the time limit, they must spin for a punishment.
6. If the play lands on a perk, they get to keep the perk but don’t get a rewards unless otherwise.
7. The player gets 3 lives during the mastermode.
8. A game over means the loss of 1 life.
9. If the player runs out of lives, the mastermode is over.

Description of Challenges/Perks/Rewards/Punishments:
We added some new stuff to the mastermode, and want to make sure we are clear on other stuff. Don’t worry I won’t explain all the things 🙂.

Choiced (Challenge): Player must lock themselves into using only one move. Can change if they switch out. Easier with a choice item.

Voice Acting (Challenge): Player must narrate what is going on in the game. Would be more fun if you give people different voices huh.

Use only 1 type of Pokemon(Challenge): Player must use one type of pokemon at random. Decided by a type wheel.

Catch a type of Pokemon (Challenge): Player must catch a certain of pokemon within the timer.

Level Cap (Challenge): Player is not allowed to use Pokemon more than 5 levels higher than their opponent. (ex. Level 11 vs Level 6 is fine, Level 12 vs Level 6 is not fine) (THIS CHALLENGE IS COMPLETED OR FAILED ONCE TRAINER RECIEVES THEIR GYM BADGE).

Yoink (Perk): Player gets a reward at the end of timer and it decided by reward wheel.

Life story (Challenge): Player must tell a life story at some point during the timer. Story must be a least 5 minutes long.

STAB Moves Only (Challenge): Player is only allowed to use moves that match the pokemon’s typing. (Ex. fire type using fire type moves)

Mom time (Challenge): Player must pay mom a visit and talk to her 3 times. Why wouldn’t you pay mom a visit?

Double or Nothing (Challenge): The player decides if they want either not do a challenge or if they do 2 challenges. Similar to the Unlucky spot, but if the player doesn’t do the challenge, then no reward. However if they complete their challenge then they get 2 rewards. Is it worth the gamble?

Candy Jar (Perk): Similar to Yoink except player gets to choose their reward from Reward Wheel.

Swear Jar (Challenge): This replaces PG. Player is not allowed to swear during this time.

Wifi Battle (Challenge): Player must take their current team and wifi battle somebody at random. If the player wins, take 2 rewards. Christmas came early!

GET TO CLASS!!! (Challenge): Player must go back to the trainer’s school and talk to the board 3 times. Trust me kids, you don’t stop learning, even outside of school.

Get out of Jail (Perk): Player is allowed to get out of a challenge. Use them wisely.

Skip every trainer (Challenge): Pretty self-explanitory, however this excludes storyline battles.

Jailbreak (Reward): Player can bring back a pokemon from your death box of their choice.

Devil’s Advocate (Reward): Player is allowed to choose the challenge or perk of their choice.

Additional Life in Mastermode (Reward): Player is granted another life in the mastermode. MAXES OUT AT 3 ADDITIONAL LIVES. Sometimes you need another chance, but you don’t need too many chances.

Next mastermode stream is an 8 hour stream challenge (Punishment): Player must do a longer session of the game. Since this is a video series, if this is pulled the next video needs to be 2 hours long.

Fitness Challenge (Punishment): Player must do an execerise at random. Minimum of 10 reps. Might be my inner PE teacher, but your body was made to move so BE ACTIVE!!

Time to cook
Wardrobe Change
Do A contest
Sell highest based power ™
Can bring over another pokemon from previous game( Only works for Generations Mastermode)
Any punishment that says, “Next game is…”
