Previously, Davilas and Kiefer got the Shrine of Mysteries up and running. When Davilas got home, he learned that his father had found a Yellow Fragment in the fishing nets! So, he has fetched Kiefer, and they are about to return to the Shrine of Mysteries.
The party enters the Shrine of Mysteries (time 0:42).
As they approach the door to the shrine, Maribel calls out to them (time 0:53). She forces herself into the party, whether you like it or not.
The party gains control inside the shrine (time 1:50). Maribel can wield a Bamboo Spear. That's why I picked up three at the castle shop.
In the Assembly Room, the party talks to the fairy (time 3:38). Under the Yellow Pillars, Yellow Fragment 3 that Pollock caught fits in the lower-right corner of the upper-left pedestal. This completes the tablet on the pedestal, it suddenly shines brightly, and the party is pulled into a warp effect.
The arrive in an undisclosed location, the Oddwoods (time 4:39). They sky is all dark and gloomy. Intent on heading home, Maribel runs off.
We regain control of Davilas and Kiefer in the Oddwoods (time 6:32).
As they head north, though, they hear a cry from fair Maribel (time 7:27). Running ahead, they find Maribel being threatened by three wobbly blue Slimes!
It's time for the first battle of the game against three Slimes (time 8:04). They have a bit more HP than normal Slimes, but they're not too hard. If you have Bamboo Spears, this should be pretty easy.
There is another scene after the battle (time 8:45). Obviously, those critters were monsters. Kiefer is excited, but Maribel wants to go home tout de suite.
The party heads north (time 11:55). They're not out of the woods yet.
Another scene occurs as they continue north (time 12:29). They find a female warrior named Maeve. After an exchange, she joins the party as a guest to escort them east to the nearest village, where they can get some rest.
The party heads north out of the woods (time 17:22). They are on a different island entirely, and there are monsters around. This is certainly more Dragon Questy! The party can head directly to the next town, but with Maeve along, this is a good time to do a little exploration and grinding. She is AI-controlled, but she's strong.
After a few battles, Davilas, Kiefer, and Maribel each reach Level 2 (time 20:01).
Near the Tower in the east, a chest contains 120 gold (time 21:01). Now there's a good find!
The party can approach the Tower. However, Maeve will warn them away.
Shortly afterwards, Davilas, the Fisherman's Son, reaches Level 3 (time 22:40). He learns the spell Heal, which restores about 30 HP to a party member. Kiefer, the Prince of Estard, also reaches Level 3.
Then, Maribel, the Mayor's Daughter, also reaches Level 3 (time 24:23). She learns the spell Frizz, a low-tier fire attack against a single enemy.
The party enters the village of Ballymolloy (time 25:09). It was named Rexwood in the PlayStation version. As they arrive, Maribel notices that Maeve has left their company. Then, they notice the state of this benighted town.
The folks of Ballymolloy are localized with an Irish accent. Exploring the town, the party learns the shocking reasons behind its deconstructed state. In the middle of town, a man tells the party about Molloy, the village's brave hero.
In the back room of the inn, a wardrobe contains Plain Clothes (time 33:35).
A man in the house east of the inn runs a shop. His stock includes a decent upgrade for the guys, the Copper Sword, for 220 gold. Might be worth saving up for!
The party enters the town's northern hut (time 36:55). Within, they find a little boy and an ailing man. The little boy is named Patrick. His dad has been badly wounded trying to fight the monsters. He needs a Green Gem from the southeastern mines to make his dad better. Kiefer suggests that the party go themselves to get the gem. The offer concerns Maribel, but it pleases Patrick. Naturally, the mine is crawling with beasties.
Next time, the party will head to the Rainbow Mines in search of the Green Gem.
Thanks for watching!
