MetroTV, Hundreds of residents from Yemen's Hadhramaut province took to the streets of Mukalla on Thursday to express their support for the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and its president, Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, following the controversial announcement of the STC's dissolution and reports of divisions within the group. Dur the protest, demonstrators waved flags and carried portraits of STC leaders while chanting slogans such as “Aidarus, keep going, we are your liberation army” and “We sacrifice our lives and blood for the South.” The demonstration came after a group of STC members announced the dissolution of the council in a televised statement while they were in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, to attend a Saudi-sponsored dialogue between various southern political factions.
