"When I was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), I honestly thought it meant the end of my active lifestyle. The first thing I was told was a long list of “no’s”: no running, no high-impact activity, no contact sports, and definitely no lifting overhead. One doctor even said I should never raise my “unstable” shoulders above 90 degrees. For someone in her early 20s who grew up as a competitive dancer, being told I’d never move freely again was devastating.

By that point, I had already gone through eight major reconstructive surgeries: bilateral tibial/fibular derotational osteotomies, bilateral femoral osteotomies, bilateral tibial tubercle osteotomies, and bilateral hip joint reconstructions. My body felt like more titanium than flesh. Years on crutches with poor technique had left my shoulders weak, painful, and constantly at risk of injury. My hip labral repair had failed. My muscles were deconditioned. Pain was the dominant feature of my life, and even standing up felt “stressful.”

Then a bendy friend recommended the Whealth Hypermobility Program, and I decided to give it a try. I’ll admit—I was nervous. At first, I could barely manage beginner exercises like quadruped (hands-and-knees) because of shoulder instability. But the program gave me gradual progressions and modifications that actually felt doable. Slowly, I started rebuilding strength without feeling overwhelmed.

I committed to the plan, training 5x per week for 30–40 minutes. Within months, things started to change:
• My hip pain decreased by about 80%.
• My weekly shoulder dislocations became rare as I learned how to safely load my joints.
• My body felt stable, resilient, and strong again.

Fast forward three years, and I’m doing everything I thought I’d lost forever—rollerblading, hiking, lifting weights, even some light tumbling. The same shoulders I was told not to raise overhead are now pressing weights safely. The same hips that once kept me from walking more than short distances can now carry me up trails.

For the first time in years, I feel confident in my body. Not fragile, not broken—just strong. Whealth’s Hypermobility Program gave me back my quality of life, my strength, and my belief that my body is capable. And if you’re living with hEDS or struggling after multiple surgeries, I want you to know: your body can get stronger too. 💪"
