In this video, Tim Warner covers malware that automatically starts on a Windows computer and how to diagnose and resolve it. He does this by using a tool called Autoruns for Windows, which allows you to see the autostart extensibility points that malware uses to infect computers. He further describes ways of troubleshooting systems with the tool.

After watching this video, you will know how to use the Autoruns for Windows tool to find and disable malware that automatically starts on a Windows computer. Tim explains where you can get this tool and how to install it. He further describes how it will show you all the autostart extensibility points in a system and allow you to disable individual ones. He also discusses the methodologies that he uses to track down malware with the tool.

Finally, he shows you how you can boot the tool from a recovery DVD or flash drive, and how you can compare the autoruns of one computer with an uninfected one.
