Thermodynamics 🔴 Chemistry for Class 11

In this Chemistry video in Hindi we introduced a new chapter - Thermodynamics (Chapter 5, Chemistry, Class 11). We discussed on what thermodynamics is, what thermodynamics state variables are and what thermodynamics systems are.

Thermodynamics is the study of heat, work, temperature, volume, pressure etc. and their relation to the internal energy, entropy, enthalpy etc.

In thermodynamics, a state variable is an independent variable of a state function. Examples include internal energy, enthalpy, temperature, pressure, volume and entropy.

A thermodynamic system is defined as a quantity of matter or a region in space that is of interest. The mass or region outside the system is called the surroundings, and the surface that separates the system and the surroundings is called the boundary.

Thermodynamic systems are of five types:
1. Open system
2. Closed system
3. Thermally isolated system
4. Mechanically isolated system
5. Isolated system
