103.1 Groove Radio Los Angeles Aircheck (1996)

A radio recording of a short-lived dance music radio station in Los Angeles during the mid-1990s. Groove Radio was created by Swedish Egil, a radio programmer who took the name with him after he was ousted midway through the station's run. The station later went by "Groove 103.1."

What's intriguing to listen to is how gay-friendly the station seemed to be, given it was 1996. The station has a vibe more similar to iHeartRadio's "Pride Radio" than it does with Chicago legend "Energy 92.7 and 5" or dance-pop "103.1 KDL" which later resurrected dance music in Los Angeles on the exact same frequency.
