Hello, this is Malcolm and I'm excited to share with you an educational platform I built for my kids because, well, frankly, I am terrified to send them into the legacy school system.
To that end, I built the Collins Institute, a comprehensive, interactive map or skill tree comprising all of human knowledge combined with a Socratic AI tutor. The skill tree covers everything from the basics a student may learn in elementary school to topics reserved for PhD students and far beyond.
You'll find everything from aquaculture, pharmacology to tort law or how to hang drywall. The skill tree is customizable to accommodate the sensibilities of any religious or cultural framework. If you have a normal account, you can interact with any node on the tree whenever you want. However, if you would like to lock a student into having to complete the trees to sequentially, that can also be done with lower order nodes, unlocking higher order nodes.
Each node contains a description of the topic, a series of AI tutors for each learning objective, a Socratic tutor to better understand the subject in general, and a Reddit style list of the best places to learn. In about said topic that any student can add to or vote on when a student wants to test themselves in a particular node, there's both a conversational AI and a multiple choice test.
