Yes, it is! The ice melts nearly twice as fast as overall global average. Turns out, the climate change is the biggest factor of this rapid shift. The albedo effect, which reflects the heat from the snow and ice, has declined. This poses significant risks not only to local ecosystems but also to global climate patterns which affect weather and sea levels worldwide.
