5 Things to do in Akaroa New Zealand.
We travel with 2 kids and visited the top 5 popular tourist destination on Akaroa and our surprisingly beautiful accommodation.

1. The giant house
We didn't know what to expect when we came here but this place is exquisite.
There are so much to see and enjoy. The beautiful vibrant gardens and mosaic artworks are just
wonderful- highly recommended! Worth a visit if you are in Akaroa.

2. Akaroa nature cruise: https://blackcat.co.nz/
This Akaroa nature Cruise trip was absolutely wonderful. The boat was very comfortable and plenty of room for everyone with a great view from every angle. We saw loads of dolphins and they came right up by the boat And other wildlife animals.
Such a lovely experience for the whole family.

This is a must-do experience for the whole family.

3. Akaroa Lighthouse
It is within walking distance from Akaroa town but you can park right next to it.
The view was stunning overlooking the Akaroa port.
We didn't manage to climb up the tower as we were there on Tuesday and they are open to the public only on Sundays.

4. Children's Bay Walkway
This free walk is accessed from the picnic spot at Children's Bay. A real delight, follow the signs. It's about 40mins to the top through native manuka (plenty of birdsong) and private farmland. Allow an hour to an hour and a half to carpark and back. Check out all the animal sculptures along the way
Stunning views. If wet, be prepared for muddy shoes. The walk is signposted and can be joined with other routes to Moa Point. Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for the longer walks. One of our Akaroa highlights and kids will love it.

I saw this accomodation on the cheap rate accomodation in Akaroa with good facilities according to our preference so I booked it. When we arrived there, OMG it was beautiful. We didn't expect it.
Highly recommended.
