EASY THREED K9 MINI PRINTER IMPROVE PRINT QUALITY WITH STABILISING BRACKETS

Welcome to my video. I look at stabilising the K9 Mini 3D printer with custom brackets designed using Design Spark Mechanical 3D design software. The brackets can be printed in the 10x10x10 build volume. I have split up the X axis guide into 4 pieces which can be printed and stuck together using a suitable glue. There is an allowance of .5 mm which includes an allowance for glue thickness.

The idea for the X axis guide was borrowed (see resources section below* for the link).

Please be sure to check that the printer is still square before fixing down the brackets. Use a carpenter’s square or similar equipment. It may require some trial & error. The brackets can be used in any combination such as if the printer does not have a suitable vertical it could be clamped down to a base of plywood, MDF or particle board. Try to ensure that the board is straight in all directions before using it. This can be achieved by checking with a straight edge.

Materials may also be needed to make the spool holder / platform or other suitable base to which the printer can be attached.

NB. The base clamps require some additional thickness to clamp the base effectively. Double sided adhesive tape can be used in this application.

The Yellow PLA is Elegoo PLA 1.75mm. It seems to print well and is strong. It seems like good value.
