How To Shift a Mazda In Manual Mode and Switch From Automatic To Manual Mode

In this video I demonstrate how to switch from automatic transmission to manual mode in a 2024 Mazda CX-30.

The gear shifter is typically located on the center console between the front seats.

Move the gear shifter from D to M. This will engage manual shift mode.

To upshift (shift to a higher gear), push the gear shifter forward.

To downshift (shift to a lower gear), pull the gear shifter backward.

Use the steering wheel paddle shifters (if equipped) to upshift or downshift. The paddle shifters are typically located behind the steering wheel spokes.

To upshift a Mazda, pull the right paddle shifter. To downshift, pull the left paddle shifter.

To return to automatic mode, simply move the gear shifter from M to D.
