Releasing Malargale by A.R.Rahman on Flow reminds me, quite ironically, of my years as a young and purely traditional classical musician when I would hesitate to play a film song for fear of being frowned upon. The music I play today, however, represents a completely different picture, as anyone following my music knows. While I consider Flow as a medium where I express my Carnatic self, I do take a lot of pleasure in going to some of my favourite Raga based film melodies from time to time. What better way to start than this ARR classic.
