What Is And What Should Never Be Bass Cover

I had to let the copyright strike dust settle before posting another video from my "short notice gig" list of songs. I think every bass player has messed around with this one at one time or another. I remember playing this in one of my first bands though no one ever sang it and it always fell apart at the end. I'm playing this one pretty close to the album version, but not exactly...some parts are "in the spirit of" the original bass part.

Last month, on the Cygnus X-1 Facebook group I belong to, I saw a "40th Anniversary Cover Contest" being held by Indaba Music...whatever that is. I submitted the audio track from the "Time Stand Still" collaboration I did with Harry a while back. I should have read the description of the contest before entering it as they were looking for "creative, contemporary covers" and not the standard, run of the mill covers that I enjoy doing. I don't really think Rush is the type of band, or the type of music, that lends itself to a contest of this sort. I don't have any hopes of winning, placing or showing in the contest, as our "tribute" doesn't fit the criteria, I just thought I'd let you know this was out there.
