A 30-day review of using Soomlab's Airbon for Kids Facemask. Although the mask is NOT an N95 for kids, the fabric still has a 98% filtration ability at 0.1 microns. It is not meant to be worn as a double looped N95 mask which would be air-tight. This is not the purpose of this Airbon mask.

The purpose is protection against droplets in the air that would have gotten past a regular surgical mask. Droplets don't wiggle like a worm to find entrances into the mask. If she was going to walk through a location after someone recently sneezed, this mask will be sufficient to prevent the droplets & virus from entering her nose. Since the fabric of the mask is at 0.1 microns, the virus can't get past the special fabric weave.

If someone was to sneeze in front of her face, the mask won't matter since the virus will enter directly through her eyes. Thus the purpose of the mask is basic protection with easier breathability for kids.

As for cleaning the mask, Soomlab recommends 75% ethanol or 70% isopropyl. After much research, both of these chemicals are dangerous when inhaled for prolonged periods. Even after several days of air drying the masks, I can still smell the chemicals as the alcohol scent lingers in the fabric of the mask.
