EV Talk Webinar October 2023 - FASTER in Scotland and the evolving EV landscape

Hosted by Dr Euan McTurk, the latest webinar in the EV Talk series produced in support of the FASTER Project examined the origins of the initiative and the process of consortium building. Guest panel members from partner organisations including East Border Region, HITRANS and Power Network Demonstration Centre discuss how the project has developed in Scotland and detailed the planned outputs, namely 24 No. 50 kW electric vehicle chargers in 12 locations across Scotland's Highlands and Islands.

Also joining the panel for a wider discussion around project procurement and delivery were representatives from Transport Scotland, SSE Networks and Scottish Power.

The FASTER Project is a joint initiative by partners in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland to support the overarching ambition to transition to low carbon transport systems. The project partnership will implement the physical roll out and installation of 73 rapid (50KW capacity) electric vehicle charging stations in the programme area before 31st December 2023. The FASTER Project aims to ensure that the availability of public charging stations is not a major obstacle to Electric Vehicle (EV) market penetration. The FASTER project has been awarded €6,407,513.23 from the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
