इटहरीस्थित NIC ASIA Bank को परिसरभित्र एक ऋणीले पेट्रोल छर्केर ‘आत्म दा’ह’ गर्ने प्रयास गरेपछि केही समय बैंकभित्र तनावपूर्ण अवस्था सिर्जना भएको थियो।

घटनामा संलग्न व्यक्ति इटहरी निवासी लालबहादुर पौडेल रहेको खुलेको छ। उनले बैंकभित्र पेट्रोल छर्किँदै गर्दा नागरिक बचाउ अभियान का प्रतिनिधि तथा बैंक कर्मचारीको सक्रियतामा ठूलो दुर्घटना हुनबाट जोगाइएको थियो।

पीडित पक्षका अनुसार इटहरीकै गंगाराम साह (तेली) सँग मिलेर बैंकका केही कर्मचारीले आफूलाई ३ करोड रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी रकममा डुबाएको गम्भीर आरोप लगाइएको छ। बैंकबाट निरन्तर मानसिक दबाब र पीडाका कारण आफू यस्तो अवस्थामा पुग्न बाध्य भएको पौडेलको भनाइ रहेको नागरिक बचाउ अभियानले जनाएको छ।

घटनापछि इटहरी प्रहरीले पौडेललाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएको छ। नागरिक बचाउ अभियान, कोशी प्रदेशका प्रमुख सरोज सिंह का अनुसार बैंककै कारण ज्यान जोखिममा पुगेका ऋणीलाई पक्राउ गरेर प्रहरीले थप मानसिक पीडा दिएको आरोप लगाइएको छ।

तर, इटहरी प्रहरीले भने बैंकको उजुरीका आधारमा सोधपुछका लागि मात्र ल्याइएको स्पष्ट पारेको छ। घटनासँग सम्बन्धित विषयमा थप अनुसन्धान भइरहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।

A loan holder attempted an ‘extreme protest’ inside NIC Asia Bank, Itahari, after allegedly pouring petrol on himself, causing panic inside the bank for a short time.

The individual, identified as Lal Bahadur Paudel, was stopped due to timely intervention by the Citizens’ Rescue Campaign and bank staff. According to the victim, continuous mental pressure and alleged financial injustice pushed him to this situation.

Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
