📖 SCRIPTURE MEMORY:
Genesis 3:6 - "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."

Genesis 3:15 - "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." [THE FIRST GOSPEL PROMISE!]

Genesis 3:21 - "The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them."

🔑 SURPRISING FACTS:
• The serpent doesn't lie directly - he twists God's words and plants doubt
• Adam was WITH Eve during the temptation (v. 6 says "her husband, who was with her")
• "Where are you?" isn't God seeking information - it's God giving Adam a chance to come out of hiding
• Genesis 3:15 is called the "protoevangelium" (first gospel) - the promise that Jesus would defeat Satan
• The garments of skin required a blood sacrifice - the first death in Scripture, pointing to Jesus
• Being expelled from Eden was actually MERCY - preventing eternal life in a fallen state

🛡️ SATAN'S THREE-STEP STRATEGY (still used today):
1. DOUBT - "Did God really say...?" (make you question God's word)
2. DENY - "You will not surely die" (deny the consequences of sin)
3. DECEIVE - "You will be like God" (promise independence and godhood)

⚠️ THE IMMEDIATE EFFECTS OF SIN:
• Shame and self-awareness (v. 7 - "they realized they were naked")
• Hiding from God (v. 8 - "they hid from the LORD")
• Fear (v. 10 - "I was afraid")
• Blame-shifting (v. 12-13 - Adam blames Eve, Eve blames the serpent)
• Broken relationships (with God, each other, creation)

✝️ THE GOSPEL IN GENESIS 3:
Even in judgment, God shows mercy:
• He seeks them ("Where are you?")
• He promises a Savior (v. 15 - offspring who will crush the serpent)
• He covers their shame (v. 21 - garments of skin)
• He protects them from eternal death (v. 22-24 - expelled from the Tree of Life)
