My first time spearfishing in the Mediterranean 5 years ago was an enormously steep learning curve. Coming from Australia the fish are big, plentiful and not particularly hard to spear. The Med is a totally different ball game. I've always wanted to spear a solid dusky grouper (Epinephelus marginatus) and this one was not a straightforward capture.
