Описание к видео Jose Mourinho Ready To CHANGE With The Signing Of Reguilon & Doherty

When Tottenham signed Matt Doherty & Sergio Reguilon eyebrows were raised but it's an indication that Jose Mourinho is ready change.

This video explains why Jose Mourinho's Tottenham will be more attacking with the signing of Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon.

Jose Mourinho is a coach who has always divided opinion and has a reputation for rigid tactics.

But the signings of Sergio Reguilon alongside Matt Doherty shows Jose Mourinho is ready to change.
One is a poacher, one is a playmaker.

There were certainly some eyebrows raised when Jose Mourinho sought to do a deal for Matt Doherty.

The Irishman is one of the most underrated fullback in the Premier League, wait, did I just say fullback, hmm, is Doherty really a fullback? Watch him during his time at Wolves and you will mistake him for a striker.

He is one of the most unnatural rightback you will ever see but looking at how Jose Mourinho set up his Tottenham side last season, it's easy to see why the Portuguese was so keen to bring Doherty on board.

Last season Mourinho deployed Ben Davies as a defensive left-back sweeping to cover the centre-backs with Serge Aurier free to race forward and provide the width on the right.

The Ivorian was encouraged to raid forward on the right and play a very different role. In part, this was because - something openly stated by Mourinho - he does not trust Aurier in defensive situations.
Aurier was usually in the attacking third rather than in a position as pivotal as right-back. His starting position was in line with Harry Kane!

During build-up, Davies would form part of the back 3, while Aurier would occupy the right winger position.

Aurier would form part of the 4 behind Harry Kane. Son would occupy the wide left position leaving Alli and Lucas in central positions.

Serge Aurier has second most touches for Spurs this season behind (Alderweireld), but more notably Aurier has second-most touches in the attacking 3rd with 680 (only Son (691) has more).

This has yielded relatively successful results, since Mourinho’s arrival only 3 teams have scored more goals than Spurs (43), Manchester United (50), Manchester City (67) and Liverpool (57) (Whoscored.com).

Although Aurier featured prominently under Mourinho, playing in all 26 of Spurs’ Premier League games following his appointment in November, rumours of Mourinho wanting a new right-back never went away.

Instead of going for 'a Mourinho' type of rightback - the Paulo Ferrerras, the Branislav Ivanovics, the Zavier Zanettis - More conservative and less adventurous - Mourinho chose a more expansive wildcard, in Matt Doherty.

Reguilon optimises the modern day full-back. He adds just much to the attack than he does defence, and was one of Sevilla's most important attacking threats last season.

From left-back, he is one of the most positive players on the pitch and can carry the ball long lengths up the field to gain territory. He is not afraid to take on defenders, and registered 1.6 successful dribbles per game last season, the fourth-highest of all La Liga defender playing over 10 games.

Reguilon also registered 1.3 key passes per game, the fifth-highest of all La Liga defenders, and had five assists in all competitions.

Having not one but two fullbacks prominent for their attacking abilities than their defending is not something normally associated with Jose Mourinho, a man widely regarded as the inventor of 'parking the box' system and if you add in the fact that Tottenham's defence will do with more help, the decision becomes more intriguing.
