The Roswell Strings - Live at The Met August 29, 2024 - Can't Go Back

This is a video of the acoustic group "The Roswell Strings" that I shot during their opening set at The Met in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 29, 2024 (they were one of three bands on the bill that night, with Roswell Strings being the first to take the stage). The quartet hails from Rhode Island and the four members of the group are:

Timothy Flynn: Lead acoustic & electric guitars and vocals

Sir Rockingham: Lead acoustic, electric, 12-string & slide guitars, mandolin, ukulele and vocals

Peter Breen: Acoustic & electric bass guitars and vocals

Steve K: Acoustic guitars and vocals

The song "Can't Go Back" is one of many Tim Flynn original compositions that is performed by the group, and it has been in the Flynn canon of original songs since the 1990's when I believe it was written.

The earliest archival recording of the song that I have in my audio/video vault is from rehearsals of the song on June 12 and 13 of 1998. I was playing drums with Tim at the time (as I had done in so many bands over the past 5 decades) and his band back then was called "The Tim Flynn Project". The song was in fairly regular rotation in Tim's live shows and I personally recall performing it a few times with Tim's band in 1999 at The Green Room and again in 2000 at The Westin Hotel, both venues in Providence, Rhode Island. So it's refreshing to see and hear "Can't Go Back" in a live setting once again. Enjoy!
