About the Game:
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is a stealth game developed in 2004 by Ubisoft Shanghai and published by Ubisoft. It is the sequel to Splinter Cell and the second game in the Splinter Cell series endorsed by writer Tom Clancy.

Set in the year 2006, Pandora Tomorrow takes place roughly two years after the events of the first game and continues the activities of Sam Fisher (voiced by Michael Ironside), a seasoned and highly trained black-ops agent of NSA's "Third Echelon". In Indonesia, the U.S. has a military presence in the newly independent East Timor to train that country's military forces in their fight against the country's rebel factions. After a US Embassy is attacked and raided in East Timor, Third Echelon sends Sam Fisher in to investigate the attack, uncovering a bio-terror plot to release a weaponized smallpox virus against the US, and pitting Sam on a mission that will take him from Indonesia, to France, Israel, and Los Angeles.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow was built using Unreal Engine 2 and RenderWare Physics and was released on Xbox, PC, Playstation 2, and Gamecube. Given control of the Splinter Cell franchise, Ubisoft Shanghai made a number of improvements over the previous game, focusing mainly on improving lighting effects and emphasizing the effects of noise and stealth. In addition, Ubisoft Shanghai reworked map layouts, allowing players the ability to choose from multiple paths to take instead of a single path approach. Sam Fisher's abilities were also given an overhaul, adding the ability to whistle to attract enemies, open doors while carrying a body, shoot while hanging upside down, perform a "SWAT turn" to go past doorways unnoticed, and perform a half-split jump. In addition, Pandora Tomorrow was the first Splinter Cell game to introduce a multiplayer mode, which would become a staple of the Splinter Cell series.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow received very positive reviews on release, with critics calling it a strong follow-up to "Splinter Cell" and praising its multiplayer component. The "Splinter Cell" series would be considered to be one of Ubisoft's flagship franchises before the emergence of the Assassin's Creed franchise.
