Lok Sabha Elections 2019| Will simultaneous polls help BJP in Odisha and three other states?

The election commission of India on Sunday announced the dates of polling for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and imposed a model code of conduct’ with immediate effect for the Lok Sabha elections.The election will take place in seven phases. The first phase of the election will be held on April 11, Phase 2 will be held on April 18, Phase 3 will be held on April 23, Phase 4 will be held on April 29, Phase 5 will be held on May 6, Phase 6 will be held on May 12 and Phase 7 will be held on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23rd.
However, along with the announcement for the Lok Sabha, the election commission also declared the dates of polling for the four assembly elections. It announced that in four states i.e. Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal and Sikkim, the assembly elections will be conducted simultaneously along with the Lok Sabha elections.
The elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim assembly will be held in a single phase on 11 April. However, Odisha will vote to elect its assembly in four phases — 11 April, 18 April, 23 April and 29 April.
