Hi, I am Architect Pravin. In this video, The Coimbatore Bio-Gas Mega Project at Vellalore marks a major milestone in Tamil Nadu’s sustainable future. With an investment of ₹69.2 crore, this facility will process 250 tonnes of biodegradable waste every single day, converting it into compressed biogas and organic manure. Set up under a Public–Private Partnership model, the project aims to transform the city’s waste management system, reduce landfill dependency, generate clean fuel for transport and industries, and support thousands of farmers with bio-manure. From biomining the historic Vellalore dump yard to commissioning one of India’s largest municipal biogas facilities, this project stands as a symbol of innovation, resilience, and Tamil Nadu’s commitment to clean energy.
