DW baig from upper Hunza Shimshal valley has been performing and promoting his folk music from the last 15 years, and has represented Wakhi language at national and international level. He is a musician, singer, music Producer, and a Cultural Activist. He is also the founder of "Initiative for the promotion of Pamiri Arts and Culture (IPPAC)" - a platform working for the promotion and preservation of Art and Culture of Gilgit and Chitral.
