• MIAMI, USA in 4K: Revisiting the arty Faena area around 36th Street, primarily to see the elephant sculptures that had appeared days before on the beach.

The Great Elephant Migration was a public art installation of 100 life-size elephant sculptures that was featured at Art Basel Miami Beach.

The sculptures are made from Lantana Camara, an invasive weed that threatens the habitats of Indian elephants. The installations purpose was to raise awareness of elephants and to demonstrate that humans and wildlife can coexist.

The elephants will travel across the United States, from Miami Beach to Hermann Park in Houston, Texas in April 2025, and then to Blackfeet Nation. 

Also I take another look at Damien Hirst's Golden Mammoth at the back of the Faena Hotel.
