Want to try NYC’s only Michelin Star Indian restaurant? 🇮🇳⭐️Today we’re at @semmanyc by @chef.vijayakumar I’m visiting all of London’s Michelin Star Indian restaurants (currently on 6/7) so of course I had to visit New York City’s only Michelin Star Indian restaurant. Here’s everything you need to know!

Semma in New York City’s West Village is a South Indian restaurant and it’s very difficult to get a table at! But we made it our mission to get a reservation here for our New York City trip (reservation tips below).

I recommend starting with the show-stopping Oodiyal Kool, a spicy (emphasis on spicy) seafood soup beautifully presented in a shell. She was too hot 🌶️ for me but I loved the presentation, flavour and textures and my husband devoured it.

Whatever you do don’t miss the famous Semma gunpowder dosa. Possibly the best dosa in the world. Crispy, gold and cooked to perfection. Every bite was heavenly.

For mains we had the lobster tail moilee which is absolutely perfect. My favourite lobster curry dish ever. My husband loved the ghee roasted lamb chops.

Semma is a very special New York City Indian restaurant and I’m so thrilled we were able to have dinner here. It was lovely to meet Chef Vijaya Kumar too, I love when the chefs come around and say hello. A perfect food stop on our NYC trip.
