Himeji Castle 2024

In early April 2024 we took bullet train from Shin-Osaka to Himeji. It took only 35 minutes from Shin-Osaka station to Himeji station. That was fast. The cherry blossoms were in bloom. The castle was packed with visitors. The West Bailey route is not too bad. But the main keep is really crowded as shown in the video. The line is long. To control the crowd the castle keepers had to keep visitors to wait outside to slow down the flow. The Koko-En garden is beautiful. I wish I had spent less time inside the castle and more time in the garden. Nevertheless, it was a good day trip with bullet train, beautiful white castle, nice cherry blossom, and beautiful garden.
