Hi I am Dr. Mark Blecher, I'm here at the South Philadelphia Wills Eye Surgery Center just having completed a gratifying long day of surgery using the new AMO Signature Pro Phaco machine and having the ability to be one of the first surgeons in the United States to implant the new Symfony extended depth of focus intraocular Lens. This is a new cataract implant that recently approved by the FDA which allows patients to be able to see at multiple distances without having to depend on their glasses. This is a notable improvement over current technologies in that it gives a smooth range of focus for patients from distance up to close. This lens also available in astigmatism correcting version which makes it relatively unique amongst presbyopic correcting your intraocular lenses. We're very happy with the way the surgery went today the lens looked great and looking forward tomorrow in seeing the patient post-op and enjoying the good results that we anticipate.
