In 1995, Gregory Widen, known for Backdraft and Highlander, delved into the darker side of angels with The Prophecy. The plot revolved around the archangel Gabriel, portrayed by Christopher Walken, who, jealous of God's love for humans, led fallen angels in a heavenly Civil War. On Earth, a malevolent soul could shift the balance in favor of heaven or hell. The film doubled its $8 million budget but led to a sequel, The Prophecy II, with Walken reprising his role, released straight to home video by DIMENSION FILMS. And this is WTF happened to……The Prophecy 2!
