Visiting JKLU campus as a member of the jury that evaluated the projects of our Bachelor of Design students, Neha Bharshankar, the Design Lead at Google, offered interesting insights into the role that AI can play in enhancing UX design.
While conventionally, designers tend to view advancements in AI with skepticism as many fear that AI could replace them one day, Neha, on the other hand, feels that AI could offer a helping hand.
It is because, Neha says, AI is not just about automation; it is also about helping customers provide suggestions. And as the purpose of a UX designer is to address the right pain points of the users, AI can help understand the different needs of the users and help one become a holistic designer.
