Ukraine has inflicted heavy losses on Russia, firing British Storm Shadow long-range missile to the border Kursk region, Global Defence reported on Wednesday. The Ukrainian attack resulted in the deaths of a Russian army general, 500 North Korean soldiers, and 18 Russian servicemen as well as the injury of 33 others, according to Dosye Spiona Telegram channel and multiple sources. The attack, which was launched on Monday, targeted a Russian Presidential Affairs Directorate sanatorium in Maryino, Kursk, claiming the life of Lieutenant General Valery Solodchuk, the first deputy commander of the Leningrad Military District. The strike also resulted in injuries to three North Korean military personnel, including a woman initially identified as a medic; however, there are claims she may have been a translator. Reports indicate that among the Russian casualties were officers from the Eastern and Southern Military Districts, and 13 Russian sappers were injured during efforts to manage unexploded ordnance in the aftermath. Notably, the deputy chief of staff of the 88th Mechanized Brigade was among those injured, according to the Dosye Spiona channel. Defence Express has suggested that the casualties from this attack may extend beyond just one general and several officers.
