Guru Nimo Patel of Empty Hands Music crowns Amaya with the honorable name of "Amaya the Chai-ya Wallah". This event happens on the day of Uttarayan, also known as the International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India. Amaya, a 6 year old softball professional from Southern California learns how to make Chai, the Nimo style, in his kitchen near the Gandhi Ashram.


While Amaya learns this craft of Chai making, we also have the opportunity to learn through the lens of this iPhone6 owned by the Bohemian Vagabond.

Masala chai is a flavoured tea beverage made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices, and herbs. Originating in India, the beverage has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a feature in many coffee and tea houses. Chai is prepared differently throughout India, and even differs by household. In this video, we will learn the Art of Chai Making by Nimo.


Warning: Must put Love and Patience into Chai-making. As they say, Make Chai Love, not War.

Chai Ingredients:
1 cup water to 1 cup milk (this makes for 2 people)
Grated Ginger
Cinnamon (powder or stick)
Cardamom
Fresh Mint Leaves (or Dried Mint Leaves)
Milk or Soy Milk

Optional: Fennel Seeds, Sugar
