The American M1 helmet is one of the most recognizable helmets of the modern era. Created mid world war 2 to replace obsolete M1917 helmets used by US forces, it's effective and easy to manufacture design made it the main combat helmet of the US military for more than 40 years. These helmets traveled all over the world, protecting the heads of soldiers of numerous countries, they have seen combat in almost every armed conflict of the 20th. century and some even saw usage in 21st. century battlefields.
