Gravity Bulk Bins + Pantry Storage

Shop with me at San Francisco's Rainbow Grocery Co-op! Tips for getting the #perfectfill from vertical #bulkfoods dispensers:

1. #Reusable bags save resources and often score a little discount. Bring a clean bag and be sure to have clean hands.

2. Think about how much you’ll need. The #PerfectFill bulk bags match standard #masonjar sizes to eliminate guesswork.

3. If your bag is taller than the space under the dispenser, drape the bag over the front of the platform holding the bag from the top.

4. Be sure to settle food down to the bottom of the bag, especially if contents are irregularly shaped so that when you check the top level it’s legit.

5. Secure the bag to avoid spilling food- shown here is a drawstring necktie technique (once dubbed the rosebud knot).

6. Don’t forget the #bulkbin code! It’s also helpful to write down the food name for #labeling. We make reusable tags that go back & forth from the side tab of the bulk bag to the jar necks at home-they fit on your wrist for easy shopping reminders. No need to rewrite for refills.

7. #Tare weights are the weight of your containers. Most bulk food shops ask you to measure and label that weight if you want it subtracted from the food weight, which they weigh for you at check out. Our bags have that clearly printed on the back to save you that step.

At home:

1. If you have a label tag, transfer it to the neck of the jar

2. Transfer food from the bag to the jar with a slow-angle pour or a fast fill using a mason jar funnel. Turn the bag inside out to make sure you've got it all.

3. Wash, eat, grab that label tag + bag and repeat!
