Introduction to Chiba Sensei's Weapons System - Jyo - Part One

Recorded live, 04/28/20 and subsequently edited to add annotations, this video is an introduction to Kazuo Chiba's weapons system, using the Jyo (staff). It was recorded during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic when most people in the USA were stuck at home and in lockdown. This is one virtual class that the San Diego Aikikai hosted on-line using the Zoom platform. Zoom has been overwhelmed by the number of people using it, and as a consequence of its popularity, they have reduced the recordings from HD, down to 640x360.



Intended for beginners with little or no aikido weapons experience, aikido students with aiki-jyo experience from other organizations and teachers, and those in the Birankai who just wanted to train, this video was presented by Julian Frost, Assistant Chief Instructor of the San Diego Aikikai.
