Senior officials reach Karipur International Airport to investigate the site | Ground Report

Several questions have been raised about the facilities at the Karipur International Airport. Experts have written letters about the danger to pilots to land here. DGCA also had issued notices but they were ignored. Aviation ministers say there are several lapses such as water stagnation, excessive rubber and cracks on the runway.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri said all these lapses were taken care of when addressed. A full-fledged inquiry will take place to arrive at a conclusion as to the reason for the crash. Senior officials present at the site to understand the mishap and collect evidence.

A high-level meeting was held by the Kerala CM. 10 lakh compensation for the families of the injured and 2 lakh for the children affected in the mishap.
