Cecilia (the little girl) is a robot made by GAi (Generation Artificial Intelligence) not an actual company*. Her purpose was for scientists to study her behaviour, and how to perfectly generate the first, working AI human. Of course, since she is the “test dummy” to make it easier me cheaper for the company, they just restart her program to change or “fix” things. However, having done this so many times has caused a malfunction in her system, aka she has stronger negative emotions than positive. The colours in the her represent how many times she was “reborn”, for instance, red is 1, orange is 2, yellow is 3, and so on. Cecilia is just about at the *end of her artificial life as she remains on a pink hair strand, the last colour in the rainbow (in my opinion-, r,o,y,g,b,p,p). Christen, fellow scientist, also working at GAi, is Cecilia’s caretaker, she makes sure she’s ok, and if not, she must restart her according to the rule book. Christen knows that Cecilia does in fact have feelings, and the lab putting using her as a lab rat has clearly fetched her. So, she eventually goes against the rule book and finally helps her escape, however she dies in the process after having set the building on fire to stop security from chasing her.
