Описание к видео CIBER Focus: Interview with Neeraj Seth, Part 1

Neeraj Seth, Managing Director, is BlackRock's Chief Investment Officer and Head of APAC Fundamental Fixed Income. He leads investment and business strategy and is responsible for providing investment oversight, driving durable performance on the platform, developing the platform’s infrastructure as well as determining the strategic direction and growth initiatives of the platform. He has been responsible for building the Fixed Income and Credit business in the region since 2009. Neeraj also got his MBA degree in finance from Indiana University.
He discusses several topics with Stephanie Wang.
Stephanie asks him to describe Singapore in three words. Neeraj answers “efficient, safe, and cosmopolitan.” He explains the three. Neeraj also says the flow of goods, capital and people are getting closer around the world and it is important for all people to have a good international perspective. Global connectedness is important. Stephanie wants to know where there are the challenges. He has seen more globalization and doesn’t think we will see deglobalization but maybe more politics and regulations due to politics. He does think that there will be more regionalization and resilience and challenges in terms of geopolitics. These affect the flow of capital. This is one of the most fascinating times and he explains why. Neeraj explains that one (meaning businesses) must beat the cost of cash, and regulations are creating gaps.
These are all challenges for Singapore businesses along with tackling climate change and money management.
Neeraj also discusses how he manages his workday focusing on the markets and portfolios, his people management and then the business. He has the challenge of coordinating between two markets.
