The U.S. House of Representatives is reportedly pushing to include South Korea and three other countries in the 'Five Eyes' intelligence sharing program.
A subcommittee suggested the expansion in next year's National Defense Authorization bill, citing the need to better cope with the rise of China and Russia.
As it stands, the Five Eyes are the U.S, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
The draft bill suggests adding South Korea, Japan, India and Germany.
However, there need to be more consultations and voting procedures within Congress, involving the Senate, if it's to become law.
The White House also needs to agree for it to be finalized.
