A former Red Beret, Rolento F. Schugerg is a highly trained soldier, tactician, and visionary. Known for crafting plans that turned unfavorable battles into assured victories, Rolento quickly rose in rank. But he felt as though his brilliance was wasted following orders. He was much better off leading an army of his own. As such, he "left" the military and began vetting soldiers for his ranks. Though he had the constitution and charisma to potentially create a military nation, what he lacked was capital. Believing that the ends of his great vision more than justified the means, he allied himself with the Mad Gear Gang, smuggling military grade weapons in and out of Metro City. He earned a small fortune in this life of crime, but it was brought to an abrupt halt during the kidnapping of Jessica Haggar. Rolento found himself face-to-face with the toughest opponent he had ever fought; the ninja known as Guy. Rolento was a master planner, but nothing could have prepared him for the deceptive techniques of Bushinryu. Guy's kunai left a vicious scar across Rolento's face. But rather than be taken in by the authorities, Rolento pulled the pins on his signature grenades, disappearing in the fiery blast. Ninjas, however, weren't the only ones with deceptive tactics. Lose the battle, win the war. When the Mad Gear Gang fell, Rolento tracked down his remaining men and founded his new army. Their first target? Metro City's Silent Stalker.
