Ringneck Snake Vs Redbelly Snake

Ring-Necked Snakes and Redbellied Snakes can look very similar. Both snakes share similar habitats and can often be found under rocks, logs and pieces of wood while herping for snakes and reptiles. Neither snake grows to be very large and are harmless animals. Both snakes have brightly colored bellies that can range from bright yellow to bright scarlet or red, depending on the species and region. There is one easy way to tell wether it's a Redbelly snake or a Ring-neck. The Ring-necked snake has a complete, full ring around it's neck at the base of it's head, while the Redbellied snake has a broken or incomplete ring around it's neck at the base of it's head.
