Lecture at the St. Gellert Festival on the 28th September 2017 in Szeged (Hungary)

In particulare I will talk about:

Franz Kline: Black and White No. 2 (1960)
György Ligeti: Atmosphères (1961)
Barnett Newman: Vir Heroicus Sublimis (1950/51)
Caspar David Friedrich: The Monk by the Sea (1808–1810)
Georges Braque: Violin and Jug (1910)
Helmut Lachenmann: Gran Torso (1971)
