Marie Colvin was a fearless American foreign affairs correspondent for The Sunday Times until her death in Homs, Syria in 2012. Often risking her life to reveal horrors of war that would have otherwise gone unreported, Marie's fearless reporting of the Syrian Civil War ultimately led to her being killed in a bombardment which a US court determined in 2019 was intended to silence her and put an end to her reporting.
Now Paul Conroy, a photojournalist and close friend of Marie's, who was with her in Homs, describes the circumstances surrounding her death and sheds light on the true story behind the events that inspired Rosamund Pike's portrayal of the murdered war reporter in the 2018 Hollywood film A Private War.
